Qatar Airways launches daily nonstop service from Doha to Auckland on August 18 using Boeing 777-300ER aircraft configured with 42 business and 300 economy seats. Flights depart Doha at 03:15 and arrive Auckland at 06:40 the next day. Return flights leave Auckland at 14:55 and reach Doha at 22:10.
The airline selected the route after demand on codeshare partners rose 28 percent in 2025. Auckland Airport confirmed gate 22 allocation for the service. Qatar will codeshare with Air New Zealand on domestic connections.
Background shows Qatar expanded its Oceania network after the 2023 FIFA World Cup with new frequencies to Sydney and Melbourne. Auckland had lacked a Middle East nonstop since Emirates reduced service in 2024.
What this means for you
Book the inaugural August 18 flight now for fares starting at 685 USD one-way in economy. Connect from London, Paris or Frankfurt with under two-hour layovers in Doha. Avoid booking separate tickets that risk missing the Auckland arrival window.
Passengers should select seats at least 48 hours before departure to secure bassinet positions on the 16-hour leg. The service adds 14 weekly flights to New Zealand from the Gulf.
