Qantas launched a 35 percent off sale covering all domestic routes for travel from July 26 through December 15. The promotion requires bookings by July 25 using promo code AUSSIE35. Sample fares include Sydney to Melbourne from AUD 49 one-way and Perth to Brisbane from AUD 189 one-way.

The airline released 1.2 million discounted seats across its Boeing 737 and Airbus A330 network. Blackout dates apply only on December 18-24 and January 2-5. Frequent flyer members earn full Qantas Points and Status Credits on all sale fares.

The sale follows a similar Jetstar promotion that sold out within 48 hours last month. Qantas reported strong demand for leisure travel within Australia during the July school holidays. The carrier operates more than 4,000 domestic flights each week.

What this means for you

Book immediately for December school holiday travel before the July 25 deadline to lock in the lowest prices. Combine the fare with Qantas hotel packages for additional savings on Gold Coast and Cairns trips. Avoid peak Friday evening departures if flexible dates are possible.

Check baggage allowances carefully as the lowest fares include only carry-on bags. Redeem any existing Qantas vouchers before December to maximize value during the sale period.
