Tourism revenue reached 28 billion dollars in 2025 and authorities aim to surpass 35 billion this year.
Industry analysts note that the policy aligns with similar moves by Japan and Australia to attract Southeast Asian and European travelers. Hotel occupancy in Seoul rose 18 percent year-over-year in the first quarter. Regional carriers such as Korean Air have added 14 weekly flights from Warsaw and Kuala Lumpur to accommodate demand.
