Singapore Airlines confirmed the new daily Singapore–Mexico City service begins October 12, 2026. Flight SQ88 departs Singapore at 23:55 and arrives Mexico City at 08:10 the next day. Return SQ89 leaves Mexico City at 13:40 and reaches Singapore at 20:55.

The airline selected the Airbus A350-900 for its 8,000-kilometer range and fuel efficiency. Introductory fares start at SGD 1,288 one-way in economy and SGD 3,988 in business. Codeshare partners include Aeromexico for onward connections across Latin America.

The route fills a gap after the 2024 suspension of similar services by other carriers. Mexico’s tourism ministry projects 120,000 additional visitors from Asia in the first year. Singapore Changi Airport will add dedicated check-in counters for the flight.

Passengers require valid Mexican visitor permits obtainable on arrival for most nationalities. Business class includes lie-flat seats and 1,000 on-demand entertainment options.

What this means for you

Reserve seats early for October departures as initial loads are expected above 85 percent. Consider the 17-hour flight duration when selecting seats near the front for quicker disembarkation.

Pack light layers for the cabin temperature and download the airline app for real-time gate updates. Connect through Singapore from Australia or India to maximize mileage earning.

The service positions Mexico City as a new hub for Asian travelers exploring Central America beyond traditional US gateways.
