Philippine Airlines will codeshare on the service, boosting connections to Cebu and Davao. Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco said the route supports the 7.7 million visitor target for 2026. German travelers currently number 180,000 yearly and are projected to grow 15 percent.

Passengers can earn and redeem Miles & More points on all flights. Baggage allowance is two pieces at 23 kg each in economy. Business class includes 32-inch seat pitch and direct aisle access.

Bookings opened May 31 via lufthansa.com and major GDS systems. The airline will operate the route year-round with two daily flights during December and January peak. Fuel surcharges are included in the advertised fares.

Manila airport has completed terminal upgrades including new immigration kiosks to handle the added volume. Lufthansa plans to evaluate a second daily frequency in 2027 based on load factors. The carrier currently serves 14 Asian destinations from Frankfurt.
