The route fills a gap left by the suspension of several Latin American connections during the pandemic. Mexico City International Airport will handle the flights at Terminal 1 with dedicated Emirates check-in counters. Passengers can connect onward to Cancun, Guadalajara and other domestic destinations via Aeromexico codeshare.
Introductory business class fares start at $2,899 roundtrip while economy seats begin at $899. The aircraft features 42 lie-flat seats, 56 business seats and 262 economy seats with ice entertainment system. First-class suites are not offered on this aircraft type.
Mexican tourism authorities expect the link to increase Middle Eastern visitors by 30 percent within the first year. Popular packages now combine Mexico City cultural sites with Caribbean beach extensions. Emirates has partnered with local hotels to offer bundled rates from $180 per night.
Travellers require a valid Mexican tourist card obtained online before departure. COVID-era testing rules have been lifted for all arrivals. Emirates recommends arriving at Dubai airport three hours early due to new security protocols.
