Thailand's Ministry of Tourism announced the ASEAN domestic flight discount program on May 26 running through August 31 2026. Thai Airways and Bangkok Airways will halve fares on all domestic sectors for citizens of 10 ASEAN countries. The initiative aims to boost regional tourism recovery.
Eligible routes include Bangkok to Phuket, Chiang Mai, Krabi, Surat Thani and Udon Thani. Round-trip economy fares from Singapore start at 2,800 baht after discount. Passengers must present valid ASEAN passports at check-in.
Bookings open immediately via airline websites and must be completed by June 30 2026. Travel dates are valid until August 31 with blackouts on July 15-20. No changes or refunds allowed on promotional fares.
Phuket and Chiang Mai tourism boards expect 30 percent increase in arrivals from Malaysia and Indonesia. Hotels in partner provinces offer additional 20 percent room discounts for the same period. The campaign budget totals 180 million baht.
Airline apps require selection of the ASEAN promo code at checkout. Families traveling with children under 12 receive an extra 10 percent off. Cargo and pet fees remain at standard rates.
Immigration officers at Thai airports will verify nationality during entry. The program excludes business class and premium economy cabins. Analysts project 450,000 additional domestic flight segments during the promotion.
Similar campaigns ran successfully in 2024 and 2025 with strong uptake from Singapore and Vietnam. Officials plan to extend the offer into 2027 if targets are met. Full terms appear on tourismthailand.org.
