Singapore Airlines confirmed daily nonstop service between Singapore Changi and Vancouver International Airport from 26 October 2026. The new flight SJ 689 departs Singapore at 23:55 and arrives Vancouver at 22:40 the same calendar day. Return flight SJ 690 leaves Vancouver at 01:15 and arrives Singapore at 07:55 the following day.
The route replaces the current five-weekly schedule and adds 1,771 weekly seats. Singapore Airlines cited strong cargo demand and recovering leisure traffic as primary reasons. Vancouver becomes the carrier’s fourth North American destination with daily service.
Introductory round-trip business class fares start at 2,899 USD when booked before 30 June. Economy fares begin at 1,099 USD. The airline will deploy its latest A350-900 long-range aircraft featuring 42 business class seats and 211 economy seats.
Passengers benefit from seamless connections to over 60 destinations across Southeast Asia and Australia. Vancouver Airport Authority invested in additional gate facilities to accommodate the increased frequency. Codeshare partners Air Canada and Star Alliance members will offer connecting itineraries.
Travel agents expect the daily service to stimulate corporate travel between Western Canada and Singapore’s financial hub. The route also supports tourism flows to British Columbia’s ski resorts during the northern winter. Load factors on existing flights have averaged 88 percent since January.
Singapore Airlines will operate the service with its own crew and maintain its KrisWorld inflight entertainment system. The schedule aligns with optimal connection times at Changi for passengers continuing to Europe and Australia. Further frequency increases are under consideration for summer 2027.
