Wizz Air confirmed on May 20, 2026, six new routes from its Rimini base launching throughout summer 2026. Services to Katowice, Sofia, Warsaw, Chisinau, Budapest and Tirana operate up to four times weekly.
The Hungarian low-cost carrier now operates over 280 routes from Italy and will deploy its biggest summer schedule yet from the Adriatic coast airport. Fares start from €19.99 one way.
Rimini Airport welcomed the news as a boost for regional tourism, with direct links to Poland, Bulgaria, Hungary and the Balkans. The routes target both leisure and visiting-friends-and-relatives traffic.
Passengers can book now via the Wizz Air app or website with flexible change options included in most fares. Baggage allowances start at 10kg for the lightest tariff.
The airline also added a new base at Milan Malpensa and expanded operations at Naples and Catania earlier in 2026.
Italian aviation authorities approved all new slots without delay, confirming strong demand for secondary-city connections.
Travellers planning summer holidays in Italy now have more affordable options to reach lesser-known Adriatic destinations.
